Refund Policy
Effective 25 July 2026 · Version 1.0
The short version. Apple and Google take the payment, so Apple and Google issue the refund — we have no access to your money. Requesting one takes about a minute, and we will back you up if a request is refused unfairly.
1. Why we cannot refund you directly
Every Sums subscription is purchased through the App Store or Google Play. The store is the merchant of record: it charges your card, holds the funds and pays us later, minus its commission. We are never in possession of the payment and therefore cannot reverse it.
This is the same for every app on those stores — but it is worth stating plainly rather than hiding behind "contact the platform".
2. Requesting a refund on iOS
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com , or open the App Store, tap your photo, then Purchase History.
- Sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase.
- Find Sums and choose "Report a Problem".
- Pick the reason that actually fits, and add a sentence explaining it. Apple usually decides within 24–48 hours.
3. Requesting a refund on Android
- Open Google Play order history .
- Find the Sums order and choose "Request a refund".
- Purchases made within 48 hours are often refunded automatically; later requests go to review.
4. Cancelling is not refunding
Two different actions, often confused:
- Cancelling stops the next charge. Premium keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. No money comes back — nothing was overpaid.
- Refunding returns money already charged, and Premium ends when the store processes it.
If you simply do not want to be charged again, cancel — it is instant and always available in your store account settings.
5. Free trial
The weekly plan starts with a three-day free trial. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you are never charged. We send a reminder before the trial converts, so a silent first charge should never happen — if it did, tell us and we will support your refund request.
6. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with a statutory withdrawal period, you keep those rights in full. In the EU that is normally a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services, exercised through the store that sold you the subscription. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be limited by contract.
7. When we will help
Write to us — we will provide evidence for your request — if:
- you were charged after cancelling;
- you were charged twice for the same period;
- you paid for Premium and the features did not unlock, and restoring purchases in the app did not fix it;
- a technical fault made the app unusable for a paid period.
support@sums.day — include the date of purchase and the store you bought from. We reply within two business days.
8. What we ask in return
We do not use dark patterns: no fake countdowns, no offer that "disappears", no hidden cancel button, no obligation to talk to a retention agent. In exchange we ask that refund requests be made in good faith. Repeated purchase-and-refund cycles may lead to access being blocked.
